c'est un grand et tres respectable défi que de vouloir sortir de l'oubli ce qui fut la gloire des Français d'Amérique qui furent souvent les premiers à fouler le sol de ce continent en provenance de France.

Le passé de la France sur ce continent doit être remis à sa juste place, et il faut en finir avec une histoire partiale et partielle.
Notre passé en Amérique fut grand et beau, et il n'est pas mort loin s'en faut
Bravo aux coeurs debout qui veulent rallumer la flamme sacrée, et retrouver leur juste place, faite de respect,de droits,de culture, et de manière de vivre tout simplement.

General interest in Franco Americans. Wanting to search history and "Where did I come from?" type of search. Spoke and read French before English. Learned English in Catholic Elementary School which was 1/2 day in French and 1/2 day in English. Upon enlistment in U.S. Army, I was given a French linguist MOS added to my regular MOS. Did some actual translating in Europe and Vietnam. The "Third Generation" syndrome applied....my children don't speak French!

This work is so important to the preservation of our history. The books, documentaries and all the other media that we might use pass on our story begins with the voices of the people who lived through it.

Those of us who focus on building the future of Franco-Americans owe a debt and our assistance to this project, because without work such as this, we could easily forget the culture and history that we our preserving for future generations.
